The Unwavering Path
What is Honor without Strength? Strength without conviction?
Conviction without truth? These are the questions that the
Unwavering path answers. To hold to a cause, all men who would
stand with must be made to answer for their actions. In order to
do that, you have to have the mental steel not to fall victim to
empty persuasions, lies, and even magic.
The member(s) of the Unwavering path also realize that fortune
favors the brave, and that all things, no matter how small are
connected. When you have strength with purpose, fate will stand
with you. Lose your way, or forget your destiny, you fail alone.
To this group, these are not just cliché statements, they are a
way of life. You are to be a beacon of strength, honor, and
truth. Anything less is unacceptable.
Parent Order: Adamantine Arrow
Oblation: Meditation, active or focused, Tai Chi, practicing
martial arts, etc
Attainments
1st: We Are All Connected
Prerequisites: Gnosis 4, Fate 2 (primary)
To start this path, you must first learn to understand how
all things are connected, that the greatest truths can come from
the lips of a 2 year old, or the worst lies from the mouth of a
judge. You must be able to discern these constantly. (The
Sybil's Sight)
Optional Arcanum: Mind 2
fIf you are going to stand up for righteousness and the good in
the human condition, you cannot be persuaded by falsities or
magic. At this level, a mage learns how to fuel his mental
shield without having to rely on castings. (Mental Shield)
2nd Attainment: Let Us Not Talk Falsely
Prerequisites: Gnosis 6, Fate 4
What good can come of fighting for righteousness unless men can
be bound to their words? At this level, the mage learns to lock
people to their words using normal casting methods, but can then
hold the oath with much less effort than other spells. If a Geas
is held this way, it cannot be for a purpose that the
Storyteller deems as honor-less or an act of Hubris. The
Mage gains the ability to hold Destiny spells outside of his
normal spell limit. The Mage can now hold a number of Destiny
spells equal to his Fate Proficiency which are not applied to
spell control or tolerance thresholds.
3rd Attainment: Failure Is Not An Option
Prerequisites: Gnosis 8, Fate 5
There are times when failure is not an option. With this
attainment, the mage may spend 1 Mana to give any Action
(including spellcasting) the Rote Action quality. This can only
be used once on any given task.
